OPI and Xbox Join Forces to Launch Gaming Inspired Nail Colours 

OPI has joined forces with Xbox to launch a collection of 12 gaming-inspired nail polish colours. As part of the exciting cross-industry collaboration, customers will be able to discover new nail looks and trends as they play. Plus a lot more besides. Here’s what you need to know about the OPI and Xbox partnership. 

OPI and Xbox, an Unlikely Partnership?

Maybe you think your typical gamer wouldn’t be a beauty enthusiast as well. But you’d be wrong. The gaming world experienced a boom during the pandemic and a growing number of gamers are women. In fact, statistics from the Global World Index show that 53% of beauty enthusiasts downloaded or played a free-to-play game in 2021. 

Also, the OPI and Xbox partnership is not the first gaming and beauty collaboration to happen. Makeup brand Charlotte Tilbury sponsored the Girl Gamer festival in 2021. Estée Lauder has a website where you can play arcade games while you learn about skin care. There’s a lot of scope to make beauty more immersive and collaborating with gaming companies is one way to do it. 

For what seems like two very different pastimes, gaming and nail care have a lot in common. They provide a way to relax and connect with others. They also allow you to use your creativity and imagination. We’re expecting big things from this exciting partnership. 

Which Shades Are Part of the Collection?

The 12 OPI/Xbox shades will be available in the GelColor*, Infinite Shine, Nail Lacquer, and Powder Perfection* ranges. The nail colours (and their names) relate to the gaming world. As ever with OPI, the shade names are catchy and super creative. Look out for;

• Racing for Pinks: A creamy rose.
• Suzi is My Avatar: A creamy pink-nude.
• Trading Paint: A creamy apricot.
• Heart and Con-soul: A shimmery crimson red.
• The Pass is Always Greener: A creamy pastel green.
• Sage Simulation: A shimmery sage green.
• You Had Me at Halo: A shimmery galactic blue.
• Can't CTRL Me: A shimmery duck egg blue.
• Achievement Unlocked*: A lilac.
• N00berry: A deep creamy purple.
